ADAM HART: FRANK GRIFFITHS BIOGRAPHY
OPERATION PIMENTO: MY GREAT GRANDFATHER’S GREAT ESCAPE (2025)
In August 1943 Frank Griffiths was on a secret mission to deliver supplies to the French Resistance when his plane was shot down near Annecy, France. He was the sole survivor of the crash, which claimed the lives of his crew and several civilians. Following the crash, Griffiths embarked on a 1,400-mile escape that lasted 108 days, navigating through Nazi-occupied territories with the help of ordinary people, including villagers, farmers, and resistance fighters.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Adam Hart is a 25 year old author, journalist and broadcaster from Pembrokeshire, Wales. He now lives in west London. His first book, Operation Pimento, about his great grandfather, was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 2025. Adam has written for the Telegraph, Times and Express. He has appeared on BBC Antiques Roadshow, ITV Evening News, Radio 4, TimesRadio, and BBC Radio Wales.
