David Lough (born 1950) won an open scholarship to Oxford Univerrsity, where he obtained a first class degree in History. He started his career in investment banking, founding his own private banking business in 1988. This advised families on their investments, tax planning, and inheritance planning. The business was sold in 2013 to Handelsbank, and Lough became in retirement a professional author.
