FRANCES WILSON: BRUCE ISMAY BIOGRAPHY
HOW TO SURVIVE THE TITANIC OR THE SINKING OF J.BRUCE ISMAY (2012)
Bruce Ismay was the wealthy managing director of White Star Line - the owners of the Titanic transatlantic liner. He was aboard for its fatal 1912 maiden voyage, which resulted in over 1,000 deaths when it struck an iceberg and sank. He controversially survived by joining one of the last lifeboats which were taking women and children to safety. He was vilified by the press as a coward, and his reputation never recovered.
