Eisenhower rose through the army between the wars, to become Supreme Allied Commander during the Second World War. After the war he was elected as Republican president of the USA, serving from 1953 to 1961.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Micheal Paradis is a lawyer and writer with a specialism in international human rights law. In addition to his legal practice he lectures at Columbia Law School on the law of war, the constitution, and the miltary. He obtained his law degree at Fordham Law School in New York, and his doctorate from Oxford University.
