Ian Fleming (born 1908) was a British author who worked in Naval Intelligence during the Second World War. He went on to be a journalist and author - becaming famous for his James Bond spy novels.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nicholas Shakespeare (born 1957) is a novelist and biographer. He was educated at Winchester College and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He joined BBC Television as a journalist, then The Times. From 1988 he was for three years the literary editor of the Sunday Telegraph and the Daily Telegraph. He published several novels, and a biography of the writer Bruce Chatwin. He has also written biographical TV programmes about Evelyn Waugh, Mario vargas Liosa, Martha Gellhorn, and Dirk Bogarde.
