Walter Isaacson is a leading American biographer. His subjects have included Leonardo da Vincii, Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, and Steve Jobs. Here he gives a fascinating account of the remarkable qualities and strange life of Elon Musk - the founder of Tesla, Space X, and now the owner of X (formerly Twitter). The story begins with his difficult childhood in South Africa and his tortured relationship with his father. Isaacson argues that his childhood gave him a taste for adventure and crisis, which served him well - leading him to become the richest person in the world. The book was written after two years of, with Musk’s permission, accompanying Musk in his daily life. Musk asked for no editorial control, and indeed not read the book until it was published.
