Elon Reeve Musk FRS (born 1971) is a businessman and political activist. He is known for his founding and leadership of Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk has been considered the wealthiest person in the world since 2021; as of May 2025, Forbes estimated his net worth to be US$424.7 billion.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Walter Isaacson’s career was as a journalist, editor, television executive, and author - with a specialism in biographies. Isaacson attended Harvard, and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He was during his career the chief executive officer of the CNN television network, and the editor of Time magazine. He was also the chief executive officerof the policy studies think tank the Aspen Institute.
